Description
Aspen Medical is seeking qualified and experienced candidates for the position of Housekeeping Supervisor. The housekeeping supervisor is responsible for managing and overseeing all aspects of housekeeping services including cleaning & laundry services within the hospital. This role ensures the cleanliness, sanitation of hospital facilities to provide a safe and comfortable environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
The roles and responsibilities of this position include:
- Provide strategic leadership and direction to the cleaning & laundry department, including supervisory staff, cleaners, and janitorial personnel.
- Develop and implement departmental policies, procedures, and standards to ensure cleanliness and hygiene in accordance with healthcare regulations and hospital guidelines.
- Conduct regular staff meetings, training sessions, and performance evaluations to maintain high standards of cleanliness and customer service.
- Manage the daily operations including scheduling staff, assigning duties, and monitoring workload to ensure efficient service delivery.
- Coordinate with other departments to support patient care activities while maintaining cleanliness standards.
- Oversee inventory management for cleaning supplies, equipment, and linens, ensuring adequate stock levels and adherence to budgetary constraints.
- Develop and manage departmental budgets, forecasting expenditures, and controlling costs related to staffing, supplies, and equipment.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and operational efficiencies while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and service.
- Foster positive relationships with hospital staff, administration, patients, and visitors to promote a welcoming and supportive environment.
- Serve as a liaison with external vendors, contractors, and regulatory agencies to coordinate services, resolve issues, and ensure compliance with contractual agreements.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders regarding housekeeping policies, procedures, and service expectations.
- Participate in the development of a safe and healthy workplace and comply with instructions given in adhering to safe work procedures.
- Take reasonable care to ensure own safety and health and that of others and to abide by our duty of care provided for in the OHS policy.
- Any other reasonable duties delegated by management.
Experience and Qualifications Required
- Diploma in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or any related field .
- Proven experience in housekeeping management, preferably in a healthcare or hospitality setting.
- Strong leadership, managerial, and organizational skills, with the ability to lead and motivate a diverse team.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and standards related to housekeeping, infection control, and environmental services in healthcare.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple responsibilities, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Understanding of Occupational Health & Safety and Infection Control Policy
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
