Aspen Medical partners with the Fiji Cancer Society to improve cure rates for treatable cancers.
Aspen Medical and the Fiji Cancer Society (FCS) have signed a Memorandum
of Understanding (MOU) emphasising a collaborative, multidisciplinary team
approach that prioritises the needs of cancer patients and their families. This
collaboration will involve sharing resources and expertise with the goal of
improving cure rates for treatable cancers.
Aspen Medical’s CEO in Fiji Gavin Whiteside said, “This MOU is designed to
improve psychosocial support for individuals and families grappling with
cancer. It aims to facilitate healthy coping mechanisms and attain an optimal
quality of life.
“The partnership is poised to foster increased cooperation between Aspen
Medical and the Fiji Cancer Society .. The focus will be on community

The alarming incidence of cervical cancer in 2019, with a rate of 66 per
100,000 and a distressingly high mortality rate underscores the urgency of
the situation, particularly with Fijian women presenting at an advanced
