Description
Aspen Medical is seeking qualified and experienced candidates for the position of Infection Prevention and Control Manager – Lautoka. The position is responsible for the management of Infection Control Policies, Standard Procedures, provision of relevant advice and acts as a resource person to ensure a high standard of patient care and staff safety in the area of infection control.
The roles and responsibilities of this position include:
- Implement, and evaluate policies, procedures, and protocols related to infection prevention and control, emergency preparedness, and antimicrobial stewardship.
- Provide leadership and guidance to staff members involved in infection prevention and control, emergency preparedness, and antimicrobial stewardship activities.
- Conduct regular assessments and audits to monitor compliance with infection control standards and identify areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals across departments to coordinate infection control efforts and emergency response plans.
- Deliver training programs and educational initiatives to enhance staff knowledge and awareness of infection control and emergency preparedness measures.
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting of infectious diseases and outbreaks to relevant authorities.
- Manage resources effectively, including staffing, and assets, to support the successful implementation of programs.
Experience and Qualifications Required
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing, public health, microbiology, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
- Certification in infection control (e.g., CIC) or emergency management (e.g., CEM).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in infection prevention and control, emergency preparedness, or antimicrobial stewardship, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
- In-depth knowledge of infection control principles, emergency response procedures, and antimicrobial stewardship practices.
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and empower staff members to achieve program goals.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement policies, procedures, and educational programs.
- Experience in conducting audits, assessments, and evaluations to measure program effectiveness and compliance.
- Sound decision-making and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on achieving results and continuous improvement.
