Aspen Medical Celebrates Back-to-Back Business Excellence Award

The Aspen Medical-managed Ba Hospital was awarded the Achievement in Business Excellence through Quality Management award at the Fiji Business Excellence Awards, which was held on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at the Denarau Island Convention Centre, Sheraton Fiji Resort. This marks the second consecutive year it has received this prestigious national recognition.

The Fiji Business Excellence Awards (FBEA) is Fiji’s highest recognition for organisational excellence, based on an internationally recognised framework that promotes best practices in leadership, strategy and performance.

Aspen Medical Chief Executive Officer in Fiji Gavin Whiteside said, “The award is a testament to the hard work and commitment of every member of the Aspen Medical team.

“Receiving the 2025 Business Excellence Achievement Award for the second year in a row is an incredible honour.  The recognition in the FBEA highlights our continuous commitment to quality improvement, compliance with international standards, and adoption of best practices from around the world.

“This achievement complements Aspen Medical’s success in attaining Joint Commission International (JCI) accreditation at Ba Hospital, reinforcing our team’s dedication to excellence, safety and continuous improvement in healthcare delivery.”

The award by FBEA follows the recent award of the Gold Seal of Approval® for Ba Hospital from Joint Commission International (JCI). In a first for any hospital across the Pacific, the Aspen Medical–managed Ba Hospital earned the prestigious and globally-recognised symbol of quality that reflects an organisation’s commitment to meeting international standards for patient safety and quality of care.

“We are immensely proud of what we have achieved together. This award, coupled with the recent JCI accreditation, not only celebrates organisational success but also reaffirms our commitment to improving health outcomes and delivering exceptional care across Fiji.”
