Description
Aspen Medical is seeking qualified and experienced candidates for the position of Shift Supervisor Cleaning. The Shift Supervisor – Cleaning is responsible for overseeing and coordinating cleaning staff during their assigned shifts to ensure that facilities are kept clean, safe, and hygienic. This role includes managing daily cleaning schedules, supervising staff, and ensuring adherence to health and safety standards.
The roles and responsibilities of this position include:
- Supervise and guide cleaning staff during assigned shifts, ensuring they adhere to schedules and quality standards.
- Allocate daily cleaning tasks and ensure even distribution of workload among staff.
- Conduct pre-shift briefings to communicate priorities, safety instructions, and any special cleaning requirements.
- Perform regular inspections of assigned areas to ensure compliance with cleaning protocols and organizational standards.
- Address any deficiencies in cleaning immediately and implement corrective measures as needed.
- Monitor the quality of work performed by the team and provide on-the-job training where necessary.
- Ensure all cleaning activities are carried out in compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Enforce the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and safe handling of cleaning chemicals.
- Report any incidents, hazards, or safety concerns promptly and take immediate corrective action.
- Maintain shift reports, attendance records, and cleaning logs.
- Monitor and manage the use of cleaning supplies and equipment, ensuring stock levels are maintained.
- Prepare shift performance reports and escalate any issues to the Supervisor Cleaning.
- Assist in training new hires and providing continuous support to cleaning staff to enhance skills and performance.
- Foster a positive work environment and encourage teamwork among staff.
- Address any staff issues or grievances in a timely and professional manner.
- Participate in the development of a safe and healthy workplace and comply with instructions given in adhering to safe work procedures.
- Take reasonable care to ensure own safety and health and that of others and to abide by our duty of care provided for in the OHS policy.
- Any other reasonable duties delegated by management
Experience and Qualifications Required
- At least 2 years of experience in a cleaning or facilities environment, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
- Familiarity with cleaning protocols and health & safety regulations.
- Basic computer skills for record-keeping and reporting.
- Ability to stand, walk, and move for extended periods during shifts.
- Capability to lift and move equipment and supplies as needed.
- Flexibility to work night shifts, weekends, and public holidays as required.
- Occasional requirement to respond to emergencies outside of regular hours.
Desired
- Certificate in Cleaning Operations or related field.
- Previous experience in a healthcare or similar high-demand environment.
