Description
Aspen Medical is seeking qualified and experienced candidates for the position of the Security Coordinator. This position will provide a safe and secure environment for Hospital patients, visitors and employees by enforcing Aspen Medical security regulations, coordinating and implementing corrective measures from security occurrences and supervise day-to-day security operations.
The roles and responsibilities of this position include:
- Supervise and manage Shift Supervisors and security officers assigned at various access points within the facility
- Responsible for maintaining the security and safety of the hospital community which includes hospital staff, patients and visitors.
- Responsible to ensure Officers are appropriately trained to deter illegal activities on hospital property while positively contributing to the overall patient experience through a customer service approach.
- Responsible to ensure Officers understand and are trained to provide an empathetic, safe approach to managing patient aggression and supervision of at-risk patients in the hospital environment.
- Assist to develop, prepare, and implement security policies and procedures.
- Coordinate security programs to promote and ensure a safe & secure working environment.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of security programs.
- Review current security training and recommend revisions, improvements and updates.
- Submit recommendations for improvements to the security management program including emergency preparedness, general security and risk avoidance.
- Assess operations and activities that could harm staff or equipment.
- Participate in the development of a safe and healthy workplace and comply with instructions given in adhering to safe work procedures.
- Take reasonable care to ensure own safety and health and that of others and to abide by our duty of care provided for in the OHS policy.
- Any other reasonable duties delegated by management.
Experience and Qualifications Required
- At least five years of security experience.
- Relevant OJT training in security
- Excellent coordination and supervisory skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Reliable with a client service attitude.
- Able to work with without supervision and complete task as per timeline.
- A high level of interpersonal skills
- Ability to relate to people from different backgrounds/cultures in a courteous manner.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and neutrality in a sensitive environment.
- Knowledge of the Health Services Industry.
- Advanced training or certification in Security
