Ba Hospital officially opened by the Minister for Health and Medical Services.

The Minister for Health and Medical Services, Honourable Dr Ratu Atonio Rabici Lalabalavu, officially opened Ba Hospital today, 9 October 2024.

Over the past two and a half years, Aspen Medical, in partnership with the Ministry of Health, has worked to ensure the new Ba Hospital meets international standards and delivers high-quality healthcare services.

This collaboration has culminated in the official opening of a state-of-the-art facility, which is set to greatly improve healthcare delivery across the Western Division.

Aspen Medical’s Chief Executive Officer in Fiji, Gavin Whiteside, said, “The official opening of Ba Hospital is a testament to the strong partnership between Aspen Medical and the Government of Fiji. It guarantees that the hospital meets international standards and is crucial in enhancing healthcare for all Fijians.”

The Ba Hospital facility is a public hospital that caters to the more significant Ba population, villages, and settlements. It is equipped with advanced diagnostics and analytic provisions to provide the best possible care to some of the country’s most remote communities.

The upgrades at Ba Hospital include state-of-the-art operating theatres designed for day
surgeries and the introduction of a CT scan, a first for a district hospital in Fiji. The hospital also features a world-class laboratory and pharmacy, further enhancing its facilities.
