Description

Aspen Medical is seeking qualified and experienced candidates for the position of Medical Imaging Technologist – Higher Grade. This position directly supervises subordinates on work activities as well as performs examinations in their respective specialised units as directed by the Supervisor MIT or Head of Department and ensures policies and procedures are implemented in the Department. The position assists the Supervisor with the smooth flow of their respective units and is accountable for the planning, organizing, and monitoring of its operational activities for efficient service delivery.

The roles and responsibilities of this position include:

  • Schedules patient appropriately and performs examinations in accordance with its protocols and guidelines.
  • Actively monitor and assess subordinates’ performance to enable the delivery of quality services and outcomes.
  • Ensure appropriate safety of patients, visitors and workers are maintained at all times.
  • Ensure that the unit’s consumables are readily available.
  • Ensure that equipment technical faults, structural defects and consumable issues are recorded and reported to Supervisors for rectification in a timely manner.
  • Ensure correct weekly and monthly statistics are collected and submitted.
  • Conducts quality checks and necessary quality improvement activities required in this field.
  • Initiate units in house CPD activities.
  • Participate in the development of a safe and healthy workplace and comply with instructions given in adhering to safe work procedures.
  • Take reasonable care to ensure own safety and health and that of others and to abide by our duty of care provided for in the OHS policy.
  • Any other reasonable duties delegated by management.

Experience and Qualifications Required

Essential

  • Bachelor Medical Imaging Science or equivalent and Registered and Licensed with Fiji Radiation Health Board and Fiji Society of Medical Imaging Technologist
  • At least 10 years of technical working experience in general and special radiography with sound knowledge of all units work processes and protocols.
  • Sound knowledge of medical imaging equipment quality assurance and control.

  • Demonstrated organizational and communication skills to be able to interact with people of diverse background and effectively work within a team environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyse and resolve complex problems.
  • Demonstrated supervisory and training skills to be able to effectively train subordinates.
  • Demonstrated ability to promote best use of resources and time to achieve work outcomes.
  • Demonstrated IT and Microsoft office skills to support the department operations.
