Description

Aspen Medical is seeking qualified and experienced candidates for the position of Pharmacist. This position supports the pharmacy team in daily operations, ensuring safe and effective distribution of medications, under the supervision of a registered pharmacist, while awaiting registration.

The roles and responsibilities of this position include:

  • Assist in preparing and labeling medications under the supervision of a registered pharmacist.
  • Ensure accuracy in dispensing by double-checking medication details and packaging
  • Work along other senior pharmacist, pharmacy assistants and interns to support services at the hospital.
  • Help monitor and manage inventory levels, including stock checks and expiry tracking.
  • Report stock shortages or discrepancies to the supervising pharmacist.
  • Provide friendly and professional service to patients and customers.
  • Answer general inquiries related to medications, referring clinical questions to registered pharmacists.
  • Maintain accurate records of dispensed medications and inventory as directed.
  • Assist in preparing reports and audits for regulatory compliance.
  • Actively contribute to all corporate requirements including planning, budgeting, and Human Resource activities when required.
  • Participate in the development of a safe and healthy workplace and comply with instructions given in adhering to safe work procedures.
  • Take reasonable care to ensure own safety and health and that of others and to abide by our duty of care provided for in the OHS policy.
  • Any other reasonable duties delegated by management.

Experience and Qualifications Required

  • A Bachelor of Pharmacy degree and equivalent relevant experience.
  • At least 2 years’ experience as a pharmacist.
  • Sound knowledge and application of all relevant pharmaceutical laws and policies
  • Understanding and application of inventory management
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively work as a team
  • Highly developed organisational skills and the ability to communicate with people at different levels and from different backgrounds
  • Capacity to use computers to support the daily operations
  • Service oriented approach, with a commitment to supporting the operational/corporate environment of the organization
