Description

Aspen Medical is seeking qualified and experienced candidates for the position of Medical Imaging Technologist. In addition to performing basic radiography, the incumbent also performs examinations in the various specialized areas and imaging modalities they have been trained and assigned to work in. The position ensures that services rendered are within departmental SOP and protocols and make independent decisions on individual patients as to achieve quality appropriate x-ray test(s) and always complies with safe radiation protection practices. The position works with the multidisciplinary teams in the hospital, including theatre, Emergency and wards. 

The roles and responsibilities of this position include:

  • Performing requested examinations and its activities in line with departmental protocols, safety procedures and guidelines. 
  • Providing appropriate radiation protection to patients, attendant family, and staff. 
  • Ensures that work environment and equipment are clean and safe to use Recording necessary patient and procedure information and maintaining confidentiality and the right to privacy. 
  • Performing after hours shift work duties and on-call and responding to relieving and outreach duties promptly. 
  • Provide guidance to X-ray technician attendants and actively participates in quality improvement programs. 
  • Participating actively in quality assurance and image review. 
  • Reporting equipment malfunction and facility issues to management 
  • Actively contribute to Aspen’s corporate requirements by attending staff meetings, conferences, and workshops relevant to job role. 
  • Participate in the development of a safe and healthy workplace and comply with instructions given in adhering to safe work procedures. 
  • Take reasonable care to ensure own safety and health and that of others and to abide by our duty of care provided for in the OHS policy.  
  • Any other reasonable duties delegated by management.

Experience and Qualifications Required

  • Bachelor Medical Imaging Science or equivalent and Registered and Licenced with Fiji Radiation Health Board and Fiji Society of Medical Imaging Technologist 
  • At least 5 years of technical working experience in General Radiography with knowledge of other speciality areas such as Ultrasound, CT, MRI and or Mammogram and be able to work unsupervised. 
  • Knowledge of relevant laws and legislations applicable to Radiology safety practices

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team environment. 
  • Demonstrated organizational and communications skills to be able to work with people of diverse background.    
  • Demonstrated ability to promote best use of resources and time to achieve work outcomes. 
  • Demonstrated IT and Microsoft office skills to support the department operations.
