Aspen Medical is seeking qualified and experienced candidates for the position of Supervisor Facility and Maintenance. This role is responsible for the daily management of maintenance works and allocation, monitoring of maintenance staffs manning all hospital operations in terms of PEM (Plumbing, Mechanical & Electrical) ensuring that all Plants, equipment, services and both facilities Ba and Lautoka aspen medical provide effective and efficient support to all clinical and other non-clinical services of the Hospital

The roles and responsibilities of this position include:

  • Maintain a positive customer service attitude at all times. 
  • Directly allocate and supervises the work undertaken by the Facility Team to ensure minimum interruption to the daily operation of the respective Hospital Services with its clinical and non-clinical departmental units. 
  • Responsible for formulating and implementing the implementation of the annual maintenance and servicing plan for all the aspen medical Building and Properties. 
  • Plan & prepare daily and weekly work plan for the Facilities Team considering issues raised by respective departments/units and ensure effective solutions and resolutions in a timely manner.   
  • Oversee and coordinates all aspen medical properties and building maintenance, ensuring that preventative maintenance is undertaken and that requests are completed in an effective and timely manner.  
  • Manage consultants, contractors, and other service providers engaged to undertake works with aspen medical properties and undertake periodic review of their performance. 
  • Carry out quotation/tender specification and scoping for technical services works that are to be carried out either inhouse or contracted out to contractors. 
  • Regularly inspect building structures and properties to identify defective components to ensure any potential hazards are corrected, repaired, or eliminated. Coordinate with Manager Facilities on property cyclone certification works. 
  • Assists in the annual Health and Safety inspections, evaluation and recommendations and participate in agency Health and Safety Committee. 
  • Provide reports, statistical analysis, and other information as required. 
  • Scoping and costings for maintenance and capital projects as directed by the Manager Facilities. 
  • Report periodically to management on status of each medical centers or property. 
  • Ensure that the aspen medical property comply with any and all applicable government regulation and that works undertaken are compliant. 
  • Set clear goals for the Technical Team managing, as well as delegating tasks with set deadlines. 
  • Monitor team’s performance, outline development plans through identifying training needs, and provide regular feedbacks, coaching and mentoring to ensure constant evaluation and growth of skills and report to Manager Facilities. 
  • Undertake any other duties as assigned by the Manager Facilities and act during his absence when recommended. 
  • Participate in the development of a safe and healthy workplace and comply with instructions given in adhering to safe work procedures. 
  • Take reasonable care to ensure own safety and health and that of others and to abide by our duty of care provided for in the OHS policy.  
  • Any other reasonable duties delegated by management.

Experience and Qualifications Required

  • Diploma/Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or Equivalent) 
  • Knowledge in Building Structure or Quantity Surveying would also be an advantage.  
  • At least five (3) years of experience in a similar working environment and managing of multiple properties.   
  • Knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety Requirements 
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently or as part of a team 
  • Ability to work under pressure with minimum supervision 
  • Service oriented approach, with a commitment to supporting the operational / corporate environment of the organization 
  • Ability to analysis problems and provide effective and efficient solution with the minimum timeline provided. 

Desired 

  • Demonstrating knowledge of the property building operations and systems.   
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation Building Code, Fire Protection Standards and Occupational Health and Safety Act.  
  • Knowledge of building mechanical systems, fire systems and other major building components. 
  • Excellent planning and organization, problem-solving, decision-making, supervision interpersonal, and leadership skills.  
  • Commercial awareness. 
  • Demonstrates integrity by modelling the aspen medical vision, values, and ethical standards 
  • Strong communication and people skills, including a proven ability to build relationships  
  • An assertive self-starter with the ability to work independently under minimal supervision.  
  • Ability to plan, execute and continuously update an annual work plan. 
  • Knowledge and proficiency of computer software with e.g., MS-Excel and MS-Word, digital file management, and Internet research skills desired. 
  • Ability to handle pressure and being creative 
  • Highly motivated and enthusiastic
