Description
Aspen Medical is seeking qualified and experienced candidates for the Systems Analyst – Database and Reporting position. The Systems Analyst- Database and Reporting is responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and security of the hospital’s databases and data reporting systems. This role ensures data availability, accuracy, and reliability to support clinical care, hospital operations, research, and regulatory compliance. The position also ensures that data across all major hospital information systems remains concurrent, clean, and usable for operational and clinical decision-making, working closely with multiple departments to maintain data integrity
The roles and responsibilities of this position include:
- Administer, configure, and maintain hospital database systems (SQL, Oracle, or other clinical data systems).
- Monitor database performance, troubleshoot issues, and perform tuning to maintain system uptime and speed.
- Develop, implement, and test database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies.
- Maintain user access controls and data security measures to ensure compliance with health data privacy legislation.
- Design, develop, and maintain dashboards, reports, and data extracts for clinical, operational, and regulatory use.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather reporting requirements and translate them into effective data solutions.
- Conduct routine data validation and quality assurance activities to ensure accuracy and integrity.
- Document database configurations, processes, and reporting standards.
- Provide technical support and training to staff in the use of reporting tools and data interpretation.
- Stay updated on hospital information systems, health informatics standards, and reporting best practices.
- Participate in hospital quality improvement, digital transformation, and data governance initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with relevant policies, procedures, and standards.
- Manage and execute data migration activities, ensuring smooth transition between systems while preserving data integrity and accuracy.
- Any other reasonable duties delegated by the Manager ICT.
Experience and Qualifications Required
- 3 to 5 years of experience working in a similar position
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Health Informatics, or related field.
- Demonstrated experience as a Database Administrator or Data Analyst in a healthcare or enterprise setting.
- Proficiency in SQL and relational database management systems.
- Experience developing reports and dashboards using BI tools such Power BI, Tableau, Crystal Reports
- Strong understanding of data security, privacy, and regulatory compliance in a healthcare context.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with strong attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across clinical and non-clinical teams.
- Commitment to supporting the overarching values and goals of Aspen Medical.
Desired
- Professional certification in database administration such Microsoft SQL DBA, Oracle Certified Professional.
- Experience with systems integrations
- Knowledge of health data standards (HL7, FHIR).
- Experience with data warehousing and ETL processes.
- Familiarity with hospital information systems and electronic medical records (EMR).
