Description

Aspen Medical is seeking qualified and experienced candidates for the position of Team Leader Laundry based at Ba Hospital. The Team Leader, Laundry Services, is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the laundry team, ensuring efficient and high-quality laundry services are provided. The role requires managing staff, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards, and maintaining a smooth workflow to meet service targets. The Team Leader will also be tasked with training new employees, monitoring performance, and supporting the Supervisor Hospital Services in maintaining operational standards.

The roles and responsibilities of this position include:

  • Supervise and lead a team of laundry attendants to ensure effective day-to-day operations.
  • Delegate tasks and ensure optimal workflow.
  • Provide coaching, training, and support to team members.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide feedback to staff.
  • Ensure the laundry facility operates efficiently, meeting daily targets.
  • Monitor equipment and ensure it is properly maintained.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment in accordance with health and safety guidelines.
  • Troubleshoot issues in laundry operations and report any maintenance needs.
  • Monitor the quality of laundry services, ensuring cleanliness and garment care standards are met.
  • Conduct inspections of finished laundry items and resolve any quality issues.
  • Implement corrective actions when quality standards are not met.
  • Manage the inventory of laundry supplies and equipment.
  • Place orders for stock and ensure proper storage of supplies.
  • Ensure minimal waste and optimize use of resources.
  • Enforce safety protocols and ensure the team adheres to all safety procedures.
  • Ensure proper handling of chemicals and laundry materials according to safety regulations.
  • Assist in creating and updating staff rosters and schedules.
  • Maintain accurate records of work done, including laundry logs and inventory usage.
  • Assist the Supervisor Hospital Services with reports and other administrative tasks as required.
  • Participate in the development of a safe and healthy workplace and comply with instructions given in adhering to safe work procedures.
  • Take reasonable care to ensure own safety and health and that of others and to abide by our duty of care provided for in the OHS policy.
  • Any other reasonable duties delegated by management.

 

Experience and Qualifications Required

  • Successful completion of Form 6 level or equivalent, a relevant certification in hospitality or laundry services is a plus.
  • Minimum of 3 year of experience in a laundry or similar facility, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
  • Available to do Shift work, including weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Ability to operate laundry equipment safely and effectively.
  • Good organizational skills and ability to multitask.
  • Basic understanding of different fabrics and appropriate laundering techniques.
  • Physical stamina to handle repetitive tasks and stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy loads.
  • Reliable and punctual.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications (e.g., Office 365).
